The story behind the framework
About Damon

Morehouse made me. Real estate tested me. Consciousness transformed me. AI amplified me. Now I teach what I know.
— Damon Redmond, The Conscious Director
I'm Damon Redmond. Morehouse College, Class of 1996. For 28 years, I've built my career in real estate — closing deals, underwriting commercial properties, managing distressed assets, and working through over a thousand investor transactions across New Jersey and beyond.
Then came the $3.55 million lesson. A deal that should have been the pinnacle of everything I'd built became the loss that changed everything. I held when I should have sold. I sold when I should have held. I was doing everything and building nothing lasting.
In that loss, I found what I wasn't looking for: a wake-up call. I discovered Harold Percival's 1946 work on the triune self — the knower, the thinker, the doer — and realized I had spent two decades trapped in doer consciousness. Executing brilliantly. Directing nothing.
That's when The Conscious Director was born — a framework for leading with vision, taste, and care while leveraging AI to handle the heavy lifting.
Today I run NationVest LLC, a multifamily real estate investment firm targeting distressed 5-20 unit apartment buildings across a 16-market corridor. I operate from Barcelona, Spain, sourcing deals in New Jersey and Pennsylvania using AI systems that handle 80% of the work.
I speak on stages about conscious entrepreneurship, AI-powered business, the Black wealth gap, and building empires from anywhere. I write books that bridge ancient wisdom with modern strategy. And I'm on a mission to preserve 100 housing units from the foreclosure cycle — not through charity, but through strategic acquisition and stabilization.
